To put oneself out there on the internet is a scary feeling. But for some reason, I always get pulled into the works of another blogger. It’s interesting to be able to get into anyone’s head, with the click of the search bar. To have a platform and to be given the opportunity to be heard. To have a community of people out there who can relate to you, like they’ve been your friend for years, is amazing. I have a journey to go on, I have a lot of goals set for the next two years and I feel now is the time to go for my gut feelings and aim for greatness. Here I’ll give a little more insight about what my goals are and what I plan to achieve in the next couple of years. I almost want this to be my time capsule post. If your interested in getting into my head a little, read on.
I was born in the well-known city of San Antonio, TX. My parents were both hard workers while I was growing up, which taught me a valuable lesson about having a great work ethic and to enjoy whatever I applied myself to. Now don’t get me wrong, we were not wealthy by any means. I being one of the youngest out of four children saw the struggles my family went through. It taught me another valuable life lesson, never take for granted what you have and appreciate anything you have, it’s better than having nothing at all. I am still young, and have had only two jobs so far. I dedicate myself to my jobs because of everything I was taught in life. With blogging, it’s familiar to me because of how many blog post I’ve come across through my everyday searches. It’s strange territory to be on the other side of the web page, behind the scenes. I want to succeed in this, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. But it isn’t my true passion.
My true passion lies within living… like home living. I aspire to be a Realtor and help make it easy for people to obtain a home. This passion runs deep into my childhood. A little back story, my Mom and Dad separated when I was 10. Before that we had always lived in a house, afterwards it was apartment living. My Mom until this day, nearly 20 years later, wants her forever home. I would tell her growing up, “I will get you a home one day. I will take care of you Mom, as you have taken care of us.” Fast forward many years later and two kids, I had set it out to obtain my own house for my family by the age of 30. Another goal was to have my real estate license when both of my kids started school. Because life keeps going no matter if you want to pursue a career, I have to work nearly full time to support my family. I barely have time to clean my house, much less get my license. This is where the alternative to turn to blogging came to mind. I can work on both passions. So here I am.
Back to why I am here blogging. I want to share the simple things in life that create happiness. Simple recipes, simple living without the dumpster diving. Not that DIY projects aren’t works of art, I’ve done a few myself. I currently budget around $60 a week on my groceries for my family of five. I could and yes would absolutely love to be able to spend more, but when living paycheck to paycheck, you learn to survive. I want to share my meals I make to survive, it’s not as poor man dish as you’d think. I also love a simple meal, not many ingredients but also flavorful. Often times I’d go on google and search ‘simple such and such’ only to come up with a crockpot meal or something with a few more ingredients my budget can handle. My schedule is pretty consistent during the week, we’re home maybe 4-5 hours in the evening. My meals need to be quick and filling.
Simple living; you don’t need a ton of money to do family activities. What I grew up on is that we’re all together.
I intend to make this more than I could imagine. I have high hopes for how I want to spend my time on Earth. Follow me through my highs and lows on my road to success. My path to a new outlook on life, to create my happiness.
